"Dirty Windshields" Radio Hour on CKUA
From the CKUA site:
CKUA is taking you on a musical road trip this spring, riding shotgun with one of Alberta’s most compelling artists.
Over the next eight weeks, join Leeroy Stagger for Dirty Windshields Radio Hour. Friday nights, Leeroy will add his independent voice, sharing spinning some of his favourite songs — along with stories gathered over a career that has taken him from punk bars on the west coast to his own production studio in Lethbridge.
In adding his one-of-a-kind voice to CKUA, Leeroy is picking up the family business.
“It’s kind of always run in the family lineage. My grandpa was in radio for over 50 years. And my grandmother was in radio for a while as well,” Leeroy says.
“It was such a huge part of my upbringing when I was a kid. I fell back on radio to kind of keep me company. I guess it was my outlet to the outside world.”
He adds that he has a lot of history with CKUA as an artist. So it might be a bit of an adjustment getting used to be on the other side of the studio desk.
“It’s a bit strange to be part of the crew now. But it seems like a natural fit and everyone I’ve ever talked to or met at the station, it’s felt like they belong there to me.”
Tune in Fridays at 8PM MT now through April 28 on CKUA.
